White Chocolate Brownies

These white chocolate brownies are every bit as fudgy and flavorful as their classic cocoa counterpart. And before you write this off as another blondie recipe, this easy white chocolate brownie recipe is NOT a blondie–it’s simply a brownie made with white chocolate instead of regular chocolate!

White Chocolate Brownies

I’ve never met a brownie I didn’t like. Rocky road brownies, Oreo brownies, cheesecake brownies…I mean, listen–all brownies are good brownies. But I have to say, I was a little bit skeptical of a white chocolate brownie. So if you’re feeling skeptical too, let me tell you as a fellow chocolate super fan: these white chocolate brownies ROCK.

What are white chocolate brownies?

These white chocolate brownies are not a blondie; they are not a chocolate brownie with white chocolate chips; they are not a blondie with white chocolate chips. NAY. These are basically brownies they’re just made with white chocolate in the batter instead of regular chocolate. And they are SO GOOD. They have the same fudgy, decadent texture and flavor of a brownie, simply in white chocolate form.

They’re made with sweetened condensed milk and a heaping handful of white chocolate. The two combine to form the fudgiest, richest, most delicious white chocolate brownie imaginable. I mean, I wish there were better words to describe how good these bars are. But you’re just going to have to bake them for yourself and report back to me with what you think. I will then compile a list of adjectives to describe these white chocolate brownies.

How to make white chocolate brownies

These bad boys are as fun to make as they are to eat. One bowl, no mixer, and only 30 minutes of bake time. Like, how many more reasons do I need to give you to get up from what you’re doing and make these babies? Hopefully I’ve done them justice with my words. And hope you all enjoy!

Tips for making white chocolate brownies

Use real white chocolate — By that, I mean don’t mistake legit white chocolate chips for those white melting candies sold in the same aisle. Choose a higher end bag of chips for the best flavor (the white chocolate is the star of the show, after all).

Use room temperature ingredients — As a rule of thumb, any time you’re baking something your ingredients should be room temp. This makes it easier to whip up certain ingredients (like butter), and ensures that these brownies bake evenly throughout.

Slightly under bake the brownies — These brownies need just 30 minutes in the oven, and they’ll continue cooking in their hot pan as they sit on your countertop. Don’t over bake these white chocolate brownies, or else they won’t be as fudgy.

How to store brownies

These white chocolate brownies can be stored in an airtight container on your countertop for up to a week (although they might be slightly stale by then). To freeze these homemade brownies, slice them and then store them in a freezer-safe baggie. When you’re ready to eat one, either warm it up in the oven or let it come to room temperature on your countertop. If you think you’ll wind up freezing some of these brownies, you might want to leave the powdered sugar off.

Units:

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • powdered sugar, for topping

Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8″x8″ dish with parchment paper and set aside.
    2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine butter and white chocolate chips and microwave for 30 seconds. Stir the mixture until completely melted (if not melted, give it another 10-15 seconds).
    3. Add in egg, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and salt, stirring to combine. Fold in flour, stirring until just combined.
    4. Pour mixture into prepared pan and bake for 25 minutes. It should be puffed up in the middle. This will sink back down when you remove it from the heat. Remove from oven, allow to cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer the brownies out of the pan and onto a cooling rack. Allow to cool completely before serving.

  1. I had high hopes for this but was not impressed. I like white chocolate but did not think that flavor was highlighted well enough. Texture was okay-ish, but teetered on the edge of just being undercooked. I had brought it to a picnic and majority of it came back home with me. Seems like it wasn’t a crowd pleaser 😕

  2. Delicious! Second time making these, just as good as the first and easy to follow instructions. The texture is soft and fudgy with a nice slight crisp on the edges. I omitted the powdered sugar (my preference). Will be making again!

  3. I saw this Brownie in instagram and decided to give it a try, even I got some bad results with other white chocolate brownies before, this one is the one that gave me the fudgy and rich texture I desired! Much appreciated for sharing!

  4. Ok! These exceeded my expectations by far! I love brownies but I’m such a white chocolate girly— so blondies just aren’t my style. These are so freakin good!!! Easy and delicious. 5 ⭐️ for sure!
