I’m so pumped to present to you Part 3 of my 2018 Holiday Gift Guide: For the Photographer! These gifts are perfect for the photo lover in your life, filled with cameras, lenses, props, and accessories!
With the amount of new photography tools that have emerged in the last few years, it can be overwhelming to figure out which ones are legit. So today I’m here to help! I’ve compiled all the things I know, use, and love when it comes to photography. Any of these would be perfect for the photographer in your life. Enjoy!
Helena White Linen Napkin $8 – This is by far my favorite napkin I use for shoots. The entire collection comes in the best neutral shades and the texture is gorgeous both in person and on camera. Highly, highly recommend!
Sandmarc iPhone Lens $90 – In a perfect world you ALWAYS have your camera with you, but for when you don’t, this iPhone lens is great. Capture 2x wider photos, get better detail shots and enhanced portrait mode capability! Just attach to your phone and shoot.
Incase Reform Action Pack $70 – I love love love this bag. It holds all my lenses, cameras, and my laptop, and yet somehow isn’t ever full. It’s also padded af, which makes it great for travel.
Stoneware Salad Plates $5 – These plates are perfect for any flatlay you’ll ever compose. The semi-matte finish is a dream in photos!
Woodville Workshop Backdrops $145 – Woodville backdrops are unbeatable in terms of quality, versatility, and style. I have them in: Nantes, Rouen, Mumbai, Portland, Tampa, Lausanne and Montpellier. And probably more. The photographer in your life NEEDS THESE. Use the code “foodtographyschool” for 10% off your order!
Canon 5D Mark IV Camera $2,800 – Yes, the price tag is heavy. But this is the best camera I’ve ever used and I cannot recommend it enough. If you’re a more experienced photographer and looking to upgrade, the Mark IV is the way to go. The way it captures light, the crispness of the photos, and the way they pop off the screen…. it’s just a dream.
Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L Lens $1,600 – This lens is the most adaptable lens I own. The range is fantastic for interior and space shots as well as detailed food photos. If you’re going to buy one high-end lens, this one quite literally does it all. If the photographer in your life doesn’t own this yet, they should.
Canon 100mm f/2.8L Lens $700 – If you are looking for an up-close lens that makes subjects pop off the screen, this is it. I use this lens constantly, and would argue it’s my favorite lens I own 🙂
Ona Black Leather Camera Bag $173 – This is for the photographer that doesn’t love the look of camera bags. This tote is chic, discrete and handcrafted of genuine leather.
Leather Camera Strap $45 – Wear your camera hands-free and in style with this classic leather camera strap.
Frame Your Feed $39 – Here’s an idea, get the photographer in your life a framed, printed version of their favorite Instagram photos. THEY WILL LURRRVE IT.
Neewer Professional Pop Out Foldable Bounce Board $47 – This is an accessory that I can’t go without. It helps to tame harsh shadows, quell pesky highlights, and make your photos perfectly lit.
Farmhouse Pottery Pantry Mug $46 – Farmhouse Pottery is bae. They are a small, family-owned company that crafts completely hand thrown pottery from their studio in Vermont. Farmhouse products are well designed, photograph beautifully, and are well-worth the price tag.
Foodtography School Gift Card $100-$500 – You know I couldn’t put together a photographer gift guide without including a gift card to the ultimate food photography school! Help the photographer in your life step up their photography game, or gift it to yourself because nothing is better than an investment in yourself!
