Apple Crisp
This full-size version of the Single Lady Apple Crisp is perfect for serving up for a girls night, fall dinner party, or Thanksgiving. Make sure you have ice cream on hand because it’s not apple crisp if it’s not à la mode!

Ingredients
Units
for the apples
- 6 large apples, peeled, cored, and finely chopped (I like a combination of Granny Smith and Fuji or Gala)
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Pinch of salt
For the crisp
- 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup old fashioned oats
- 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- First, prepare the apples. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Generously grease the bottom and sides of a 9 x 13-inch baking pan with cooking spray. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the chopped apples, brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and salt. Use a silicone spatula to combine, then pour into the prepared baking pan. Set aside.
- Next, make the crisp. In that now-empty mixing bowl (no need to clean it!), use a silicone spatula to stir together the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Pour in the melted butter and use the spatula to mix everything together until combined. Use your hands to squeeze the crumble into your palms, then break it apart into big and small clusters, sprinkling them all over the apples.
- Bake at 375°F until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbling around the edges, 45 to 50 minutes. Place the baking pan on a cooling rack and allow the crumble to cool slightly before serving.
