They taste like a cross between a super moist blueberry muffin and an old fashioned cake donut, come together in 15 minutes (YOU HEARD ME PPL), and are pretty enough to serve up for an Instagram worthy summer brunch.

How are baked donuts lighter than regular donuts?
Now, personally I feel that there is room for any baked good in a healthy diet. It’s all about balance. But as someone who loves to start the day off on a sweet note, but doesn’t love the sugar crash that hits after wolfing down a cinnamon roll at 9 am, I’m always on the hunt for better for you breakfast treats. That’s where these blueberry baked donuts come in. They’re one of those rare “lighter” foods that tastes just as good as the real deal.
Instead of frying up your donuts, you’ll pipe them right into a donut pan and pop them in the oven–no extra oil needed! Don’t worry, they’re still loaded full of blueberry flavor and covered in a homemade blueberry glaze, but thanks to Bonne Maman INTENSE Blueberry Fruit Spread, you’ll get all that delicious blueberry flavor without the sugar crash.

For the summer (and blueberry season!), we love the INTENSE Blueberry Fruit Spread because it packs all the summer blueberry flavor into a convenient (and cute!) jar with more fruit and less sugar than traditional preserves. It’s absolutely perfect swirled into the actual donuts and into the blueberry glaze for these blueberry donuts!
What do you need to make baked blueberry donuts?
To make baked donuts you’ll need a donut pan. You can grab one at most home stores or online for under $15. It is so worth it, and makes whipping up a light breakfast treat at home super easy! Other than that you’ll just need the following ingredients!
- Greek Yogurt: Most of the baked donut’s moistness will come from protein packed greek yogurt! If you don’t have greek yogurt on hand, you can always use regular non-fat plain yogurt–just make sure it’s unsweetened.
- Eggs: Just one egg will give the perfect amount of structure to your baked donuts
- Granulated Sugar: You’ll need ⅓ cup of regular old sugar for just a hint of sweetness in the donuts!
- Baking Soda + Baking Powder: A combination of baking soda and baking powder will work together to create the perfect rise in your donuts!
- Vegetable Oil: Just 4 Tablespoons of oil will keep your donuts super super tender and prevent them from getting gummy from the yogurt!
- Milk: You’ll use milk in both the batter and the glaze! Use whatever kind you have on hand from whole milk to almond milk!
- Bonne Maman INTENSE Blueberry Fruit Spread: This is the star ingredient of these baked blueberry donuts. You’ll swirl it into the actual donut batter (yet, it’s as good as it sounds) and also use it to make the glaze!
- Powdered Sugar: Any good breakfast treat is finished off with a delicious glaze which means you’ll need powdered sugar!
Tips for the best baked blueberry donuts:
This sweet breakfast treat is super easy to whip up, but these three tips will guarantee you perfect blueberry donuts every time!
- Don’t overmix the batter: Overmixing your batter can lead to tough donuts, so stop stirring as soon as no streaks of flour remain! The batter will be a little lumpy–this is okay! You’ll also want to make sure not to overmix the batter too much when you add in the Bonne Maman INTENSE Blueberry Fruit Spread to keep those beautiful blueberry ribbons.
- Grease your donut pan well: The last thing you want is a donut stuck to your pan. Make sure you spray the pan well with cooking spray in between each batch for easy release!
- Eat ‘em hot: Like most donuts, these baked blueberry donuts are at their tastiest when they’re fresh from the oven!
How to store baked blueberry donuts?
We almost never have a donut left to store because this blueberry donuts recipe makes just 12 donuts AKA the perfect amount, but if you’re looking to prep ahead or save a few, you’re in luck. These donuts will keep well at room temperature or in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days. They also freeze very well in a single layer in a freezer safe plastic bag for up to 3 months! If you are planning on baking ahead and freezing, hold off on frosting them until the day of to prevent them from getting soggy!

Ingredients
for the donuts
- 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup plain, non-fat greek yogurt
- 4 Tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup Bonne Maman INTENSE Blueberry Fruit Spread
for the glaze
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 3 Tablespoons milk
- 2 Tablespoons Bonne Maman INTENSE Blueberry Fruit Spread
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a standard sized donut pan and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, combine egg, yogurt, vegetable oil, milk, and vanilla extract. Carefully pour the wet ingredients into the dry, mixing until just combined. Mixture will be slightly lumpy and thick.
- Drop Tablespoons of Bonne Maman INTENSE Blueberry Fruit Spread into the batter, folding once or twice to incorporate it. Do not over mix.
- Spoon batter into a large piping bag, making sure to not over mix it. and cut a ½ inch hole in one corner, creating a makeshift piping bag. Pipe the dough into the donut molds, filling ¾ of the way to the top of the molds. Bake for 10 minutes. Allow to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before removing and repeating with the rest of the batter.
- While the donuts cool, make the glaze. Combine all the ingredients for the glaze in a medium saucepan over medium heat, whisking vigorously until completely combined. Once everything is combined, remove from the heat and dunk the donuts into the glaze! Finish off with sprinkles or edible flowers. Enjoy!
Couldn’t find the Intense Jam but used the wild blueberry jam instead. They turned out so good!! Light and fluffy and slightly sweet. Definitely will make them again!

Made these amazing Blueberry Donuts last weekend — super delicious!
The donut portion, largely thanks to the magic fruit spread, was very moist and fluffy.
The glaze was the only place I ran into a problem. On the first couple of donuts, it was just leaving a thin, almost clear glaze (like what is found on Old Fashioned glazed donuts); I added quite a bit more powdered sugar (somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 cup) until it started to thicken up, and once I dunked the donuts again, they finally appeared to have a glaze that matched the consistency seen in the photos.
Will definitely be making these again!
