The Best Matcha Green Smoothie

matcha collagen green smoothie with almond butter, matcha powder, banana, mango, and chia. the perfect way to start your morning!

Happy Sunday, lovebugs! Sofi here! I am SO excited to share this recipe for our favorite matcha green smoothie that we drink pretty much every day. This creamy, dreamy smoothie is made with banana, mango, dates, a full cup of spinach, almond milk, almond butter, and a scoop of matcha collagen powder for an extra caffeine boost to kick the day off.

And if we forget to buy frozen mango and have to have peanut butter toast for breakfast instead we are so sad and it pretty much ruins our morning. That is the power of this matcha collagen smoothie.

My roommates and I concocted this smoothie recipe up a year ago and have been making it daily ever since. I introduced it to Sarah this winter and she validated my obsession. Now the two of us make it everyday and slurp our smoothie while we plan out the day.

There was a brief time period where I would drink one at home with my roommates and then another with Sarah 3 hours later. Woops.

But the recipe without any additions, packs 22 grams of protein, 10 grams of fiber, 97% of our vitamin C,  and 24% of our iron. Plus thanks to a scoop of matcha collagen powder, you’ll also get some caffeine to get yourself going for the day. It’ll keep you full all morning long and help you get in all your vitamins and minerals in the morning.

Then you can eat chocolate chip cookies for lunch and not feel so bad about it 🙂

What the heck is matcha collagen powder?

This post isn’t sponsored by Vital Proteins–we are just seriously obsessed with their matcha collagen powder. I’ve been taking collagen for the past couple of years for all it’s amazing healthy benefits and this matcha collagen powder if seriously my favorite product I’ve tried. It’s simply irreplaceable in this smoothie.

That being said, if you don’t have it on hand, you can always use 2 teaspoons of high quality matcha instead for a similar flavor!

So save that $12 on an overpriced smoothie from a juice bar and make this matcha collagen green smoothie instead. Then you can have a smoothie that is, dare I say better than a store bought one AND buy clothes instead!

A win win in our book.

  1. I’m amazed, I have to admit. Seldom do I come across a blog that’s equally educative and amusing, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. The problem is something which not enough people are speaking intelligently about. Now i’m very happy that I came across this during my search for something concerning this.
