And while I love going out to my local ice cream establishment for a scoop of the good stuff, making ice cream at home is super fun and it’s economical. No need to splurge on an overpriced ice cream shoppe scoop when you can make creamy, dreamy no churn ice cream that tastes just as gourmet, right at home–no ice cream machine required! It’s stupid easy. I’m talking 10 minutes prep time. Pop it in the freezer overnight–no churning necessary!

What is no churn ice cream?

You’d never be able to tell that no churn ice cream is any different from the kind made in an ice cream machine. It’s just as creamy, luscious and rich as traditional ice cream, it’s just made without a machine! Because it’s not cooled as it’s churned, you’ll need to set it overnight to freeze, but other than waiting 12 hours, this this ice cream is about as easy it gets.

How to make homemade ice cream without an ice cream machine?

We make our no churn ice cream with a base recipe of heavy whipping cream and sweetened condensed milk.  No-churn ice cream is crazy easy to make, but it’s best if you have an electric or stand mixer on hand to speed up this process!

  1. Beat the heavy cream until i’s light and fluffy and stiff peaks form.
  2. Carefully fold in the sweetened condensed milk and flavorings.
  3. Fold in any topping.
  4. Freeze overnight!

  1. Hey! If I wanted to put cookie dough in this ice cream, what kind would work? I eat raw cookie dough no problem, but I wanted to know if that had a good consistency for ice cream. Also, I’ve made your chocolate cookies and cream no churn ice cream and it is some of the best ice cream I have ever had.     For the ice cream- can you make with protein shake (like the liquid kind)… asking for a friend!

    • Hi Sydney! I don’t think a protein shake would whip up the same way as heavy cream so I wouldn’t recommend it! You can eat the ice cream and then drink your protein shake hehe 🙂 OR you could make the icecream and then make a MILKSHAKE out of it with your protein shake!
